HI would recommend Rob Tate Homes to anyone wanting to build a duplex or house in the mid north coast region. Communication is very high and consistent and Chris Castles is an asset to the business. I had Rob Tate Homes build a duplex for me in Wauchope - the construction is quality, the communication clear and timelines met. Thank you for your partnership and highly recommended.

We highly recommend you look at other builders for your project.

UPDATE 2: Yesterday we paid all monies owing, minus the delay compensation per the contract. Today the builder would not hand over OUR property unless we removed the below review as they were now making it conditional to receive the delay compensation (Which we're legally entitled to in the contract). In the end I took down the review so we could move on, THEN their lawyer sends us the deed of release (which we're told by our lawyer isn't required & we're not signing) We open it to find that the builder has tried to slip through a clause that would mean we waive any right to future claims for all defects we've brought to their attention, including the ones that haven't been fixed. This was never agreed to, in fact was rejected by us in a prior offer from the builder. Absolutely disgusting

Further to this we have been (in our opinion) intimidated with threats of being sued for defamation. For what, a factual review? We can validate and support everything we have written, photo's as well from handover reports via a 3rd party. Again, absolutely disgusting behaviour.

UPDATE 1: We're 13 weeks on from builders version of practical completion, the property still hasn't been handed over, nor an OC granted. Disgusting when you're sold a 20 week construction time frame.. Builder started building early March 2021

Initial Review: We are in the process of building a duplex in Port Macquarie with Rob Tate Family Homes, what a disgrace.

In our opinion they are not adequately staffed and minimal leadership. They cannot meet agreed time frames and the level of work (as confirmed in our inspection reports) is below, well below average.

Mistakes Galore.. Where do I start, the planning and draftsman were poor at best, with numerous mistakes. That can be dealt with if you have decent supervisors and tradesmen, which they don't. We had wrong windows installed, the wrong exposed ag driveway installed, two different garage door heights at frame stage (which the builder told us was an illusion in the photo, then a team member sends a later photo that's show work had been done to correct the issue), wrong colour garage floor paint, wrong colour tiles installed around the baths, random concrete slabs poured in the yard, garden taps installed in the wrong location, garden taps (the ones in the wrong location) installed right on a window architrave and pouring into air conditioning pipes below (which were not sealed properly into the external wall), water tanks installed across the master bedroom windows.. some of these have been fixed, some just to hard for them and we're made to feel like we're being difficult.

Now onto the shoddy workmanship. Wow, just wow. We had carpet partially installed in the ensuite bathrooms, door jams installed out of whack with bathroom tiles in front of the door frame on one side, behind on the other side, 11 of 17 colorbond roof sheets scratched on one unit as tradesman dragged something over the roof, corking wiped every 30cm across sections of the roof, paint overspray across sections of the roof (roof defects are apparently within an acceptable tolerance.. umm no), gutters installed and sloping in the wrong direction, box gutters installed incorrectly and holding water (apparently another acceptable tolerance, however it holds more than 1cm and not within tolerance), downpipes installed late and not painted, high % of white wall tiles (floor to ceiling mind you) across all bathrooms installed with black marks (yes, no one thought to stop), tiles not installed evenly, concrete driveway installed with limited to no slope away from the garage (this was the second driveway installed), a shoddy drain installed to try and fix the second driveway with a silicon job our kids could of done better. The list goes on.

We understand wet weather, however when there are claims for days with either no rainfall or rainfall less than 0.5mm and 0.2mm of rain, it's questionable. A day was claimed for a day they sent us a video of our site cut, it's sunny & dry.

Rob Tate Homes built us a duplex in the Sovereign Hills Estate in 2021. Both properties were sold to home owners for a record price at that time. Despite Port Macquarie having the worst rainfall in a century during the construction we were informed every step of the way by the builder about the necessary delays. We are investors from Melbourne and decided to travel to Thrumster to view the properties in person last May 2021. We were met onsite by our project manager Carli and the selling agents we selected to sell/rent the homes. There was a minor oversight with the size of an oven being incorrect but we worked it out. Thankfully we were there to get it organised and Carli made it a seamless journey for my husband and I. The end product turned out beautifully and we are very happy with the quality of the homes. Obviously our buyers were too as they were sold quickly! Highly recommend this company.

We engaged Rob Tate Family Homes to buld a duplex n Thrumster (Port Macquarie NSW) - We found all members of the team excellent to work with. The pleasing thing for us is that there were many things outside of the contract that they were happy to discuss and assist with where possible. We chose some upgrades./ variations and it was pleasing that these were in line with market prices (friends have had quite different experience with a high profile builder where even the addition of down-lights were very expensive.). We were based in Sydney during the build and I found the communications were great including photos being forwarded. We worked closely with Carli during the build and Carli was very helpful, including making time to see us on-site, assisting our real estate agent and was more than happy to help and provide suggestions on our proposed variations that we greatly appreciated We highly recommend Rob Tate Homes - thanks Carli and all involved.

I recently used Rob Tate to build a duplex in Port Macquarie. Both units are really of quality build with well designed floor plan. They suit the demographic of the area and demand, which has made the selling process quite smooth. The manager Chris Castles is highly responsive and supportive along the way of construction and even after the handover.
    I highly recommend this company.
